III. Iron Curtain Tour, 25-26 june 2011
The Iron Curtain touring path has been created based on the Wall Tour of Berlin, as an initiative of the European Parliament. It has been established along the iron curtain, which separated once the East from the West, from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea. A part of this is crossing Sopron.

Iron Curtain Tour at the climatic resort

Romantic natural environment, healing and refreshing subalpine climate along the iron curtain. Tour with us in the Lövérek of Sopron to the line of the former frontier zone, and refresh yourself on the curative air during the one day long tour.

Route (23.5 km, about 8 hours):

8:15 Brennberg, culture house (meeting point, registration) – Kuruckereszt - Határvonal - Ilona akna - Magasbérci kilátó - Határvonal – Urak Asztala - Idegenek útja (kicsit Ausztriában) - Első halom - Széles-hát - Ház-oldal - Borsó-hegy (ép magasfigyelő) - Hajdani Bányász-vasút nyomvonala - Fehér úti tó- Volt műszaki zár nyomvonala - Hermesi út - Brennberg, culture house (the journey's end)

Level:  hardly passable paths and passages with hills (500 m)

Registration: 7:45 – 8:15 I Brennberg, culture house

Registration fee: 4 € /person,

includes the following: tour guiding I map of the tour I provisions for the journey (2 sandwiches, 0,5l bottle of mineral water, fruits).
Travelling to the meeting point and back to hotel is individually.

• Extra tour, 28.2 km, about 10 hours: 8:00 Hotel Sopron (meeting point, registration) - Ó Hubertus tower – Hubertus house – Simon kereszt – Tack of the one-time border – Dudlesz gerinc – Sopron / Klingenbach border crossing point – Dudlesz forest – Pan-European Picnic Memorial Place (stew-pot lunch) – Mithras sanctum – Fertőrákos by electric train, stone-pit of the village– Tómalom – Aranyhegy – Hotel Sopron
  
  
• Long tour, 23 km, about 8 hours: 8:00 Hotel Sopron (meeting point, registration) - Ó Hubertus tower – Hubertus house – Simon kereszt – Tack of the one-time border – Dudlesz gerinc – Sopron / Klingenbach border crossing point – Dudlesz forest – Pan-European Picnic Memorial Place (stew-pot lunch) – Mithras sanctum – Fertőrákos by electric train, stone-pit of the village
  
  
• Short tour, 12.8 km, about 3,5 hours: 9:30 Hotel Sopron (meeting point, registration) – bus transfer to Sopron / Klingenbach border crossing point – Dudlesz forest – Pan-European Picnic Memorial Place (stew-pot lunch) – Mithras sanctum – Fertőrákos by electric train, stone-pit of the village

Participants of the tour get a platter of stew-pot goulash at the Pan-European Picnic Memorial Place.

Level:  easy, comfortable tour (150 m)

Registration: 7:45 – 9:30 I Hotel Sopron (Sopron, Fövényverem street 7.)

Registration fee:  7 € /person,

includes the following: transfer to the Sopron / Klingenbach border crossing point I electric train from Mithras sanctum to the stone-pit of Fertőrákos I tour guiding I map of the tour I information points I boarding at the marked stops: 4x refreshers, 1x lunch

Travelling to the meeting point and back to hotel is individually.

Boarding: 

We provide refreshers along the way at the marked stops.Participants of the tour get a platter of stew-pot goulash between 11:00 and 13:00 at the Pan-European Picnic Memorial Place.
